I’ve always believed in the transformative power of technology for the legal profession. The idea for Haloo came when I was a practising IP lawyer, finding myself frustrated with billing clients for third-party search disbursements and the time spent on manual database queries. I often had to reduce the scope of clearances to fit a client’s budget, compromising the quality of my advice and service.
This led to the lightbulb moment: what if lawyers could conduct comprehensive trademark searches themselves?
By enabling self-serve searches, we free up your time for high-value services like deeper strategic advice and more extensive searches across jurisdictions and common law. These services provide greater client value, and could significantly increase your billable hours and revenue.
With $8 million in venture capital funding and support from Google, we’ve streamlined complex queries, reduced human error, and built to the rigorous standards of Intellectual Property Office examiners.
In developing our technology, we had another moment of insight: lawyers were serving only a fraction of the potential market. Through strategic API partnerships with small business service providers, we're now reaching the nearly 80% of SMBs that often forego legal services due to cost and complexity. By creating a pipeline that connects these growing businesses with lawyers at the right time, we’re simplifying and democratizing access to legal protection through professional IP services, and creating a win-win for all.
Haloo is a women-led company that’s committed to DE&I. Our AI is built on a strong ethical foundation, prioritizing transparency, fairness, and the responsible use of technology. It doesn’t hallucinate or make guesses; it’s grounded in solid legal data and principles, ensuring that we meet the highest professional practice standards.
We’re a team of legal and artificial intelligence experts making trademark protection more accessible, efficient, and equitable for everyone. We’re excited about the future of trademark practice—let’s build it together.
